Global Transportation Leaders to Meet in Prague to Discuss New Technologies Shaping Mobility

IBTTA’s 2014 Global Summit to Focus on Innovation, Road Safety and Environmental Sustainability in Transportation Systems Around the World

WASHINGTON, DC – As transportation challenges mount across the globe, transportation experts and tolling professionals will gather to share and explore new technologies that are making mobility more efficient for drivers back home. The International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association (IBTTA), the worldwide association representing toll facility owners and operators and the businesses that serve them, released the agenda for their upcoming 2014 Global Summit scheduled next week in Prague, Czech Republic. The meeting will be organized with the Institutional support from ASECAP, the European Association of Toll Road Concessionaire Companies.  

The 2014 IBTTA Global Summit:  Innovations & Transportation for Sustainable Mobility, Environment and Road Safety will take place October 19-21. Transportation leaders will share best practices in the areas of policy, finance, environment and technology. The Global Summit kicks-off on Sunday, October 19th with a technical tour highlighting some of the newest technological advancements taking place on Prague’s new Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Motorway. The tour will include a showcase of incident management technology, including 24/7 live streaming and license plate recognition software currently being employed.  

On Monday, October 20th and Tuesday, October 21st attendees will hear from global transportation experts on issues ranging from “Intelligent Transportation in the Era of Big Data” to “The Technology of Highway Safety” to “Smart Cities” employing new technologies to help manage congestion on some of the world’s busiest stretches of highways and bridges.
