Foundation Service Project
Oklahoma City, OK
On Sunday, May 31, 2015, IBTTA volunteers spent a full day working on projects, big and small, along White Fields staff and residents. On a 140-acre campus of residential cottages and facilities, White Fields cares for abused and neglected boys and provides a place to call home. We had projects for everyone at every skill level. Many of the Oklahoma Turnpike's local contractors donated in-kind materials and heavy equipment in preparation for our arrival. The project list included rebuilding a small fishing pond and creating a nearby seating/hanging out area for families; an asphalt sealing, patching and lining project; tree planting (to the tune of 57 trees, all of which were donated), painting in the cottages – and even cooking for all of the volunteers. The Kansas Turnpike maintenance group also joined us and donated much-need signage for the campus.
