IBTTA's Board of Directors consists of 25 Active (toll operator) member representatives. Directors serve staggered 4-year terms and officers serve one-year terms. The terms of officers and directors begin on January 1 of the year following their election at the Association’s annual meeting. The IBTTA Board sets the strategic direction of the Association, approves the Association outcomes to be accomplished, and assures that the resources necessary for the achievement of desired outcomes are available and used efficiently. The Board of Directors meets three (3) times a year: January, April/May, and September/October. Board members must have the support of their own organizations to participate in Board activities and are expected to attend all IBTTA Board meetings. The IBTTA Foundation is the research, educational and charitable arm of IBTTA. The Foundation supports and conducts research on transportation and tolling; conducts training and professional development programs including the IBTTA Leadership Academy; supports charitable good works and operates a scholarship program. Contributions to the IBTTA Foundation and the Leadership Academy are tax deductible as charitable contributions under section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code. The Foundation directors serve staggered three-year terms.
The Meeting Planning Groups play a vital role in shaping IBTTA's educational content. Each Meeting Planning Group contributes and helps to plan our summits, workshops and Annual Meeting. Most groups begin forming approximately 6-8 months out. At this time, all Meeting Planning Groups are full and have begun or completed much of the work. Volunteer opportunities for the 2018 events will open in the Fall of 2017.
