Smashing Smishing in Tolling Webinar

IBTTA's Emerging Technologies Committee presented this important webinar in collaboration with the Council of Platinum Sponsors (CoPS). Tolling experts from both the public and private sectors discussed and shared insights on the recent surge in smishing attacks and strategies to prevent and respond to these complex cyber events. Since early March, the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) has received over 2,000 complaints reporting smishing texts representing road toll collection services from at least three states. IC3 complaint information indicated that the scam had been moving from state to state.
