Since 2008, the IBTTA Service Project has been an integral part of the Maintenance, Engineering & Roadway Operations Workshop, bringing together volunteers to support local communities. Each year, IBTTA partners with a local organization in the city hosting the Workshop to make a positive impact.
In 2026, more than 100 volunteers came together in New Orleans to partner with Glass Roots, the nonprofit partner of Glass Half Full, in support of coastal restoration and community revitalization in the Greater New Orleans area.Together, volunteers filled more than a ton of recycled glass sand into restoration bags, painted shipping containers that will serve as new education and storage spaces, helped prepare glass for recycling into sand, and completed a variety of projects that will leave a lasting impact for the organization and the communities it serves. Thank you to our Project Champions, whose commitment and generosity expanded what was possible, allowing us to create an even greater impact.
