program deadline

Your application must be submitted by 3:00 pm Central Time on May 9, 2019, or within the first 200 applications submitted, whichever occurs first.

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $5,000 award. Up to five (5) awards will be granted. Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Recipients are required to attend the IBTTA Foundation annual meeting (September 2019 in Halifax) to accept their award (at the Foundation's expense) or send a video acceptance if unable to attend.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal. Applicants are also required to submit a resume demonstrating work that has been done on industry-related activities. Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of the IBTTA Foundation play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Applicants will be notified in June. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of the IBTTA Foundation. Payments are made in one installment in early August.

Recipients have no obligation to the IBTTA Foundation. They are, however, required to notify Scholarship America of any changes in address, school enrollment, or other relevant information, and to send a complete official transcript when requested.
