IBTTA Foundation Annual Service Project
Glass Roots and Glass Half Full, New Orleans, LA
More than 100 volunteers showed up to this former landfill, and now the home of Glass Half Full and its non-profit partner, Glassroots, where more than one ton of recycled glass sand was bagged and prepared for future coastal restoration work. In addition, volunteers cleared invasive vegetation and planted native species along the marsh edge, and transformed two new shipping containers into permanent indoor spaces that will support education, volunteers, and daily operations at their new recycling facility.
